Held the first Saturday of every month (except August and in cases of snow/fire that shut down the Cajon Pass section of the 15 freeway). Cal-Earth has held these open houses now for over a twenty years, and every year more people come to experience it for themselves, and to teach their children how to build a sustainable future. Cal-Earth associates and apprentices give tours and answer questions throughout the day. Most buildings are wheelchair accessible. Please no pets.

Personal tours

Tours are available by appointment only. During certain times of the year we have very limited availability due to workshops and other on-site programming. Open House is by far the best time to visit the site.

  • For a 90-minute tour (up to five people): $50 donation

  • Groups of six or more individuals: $10 donation per person

Field trips

Field trips can be arranged for classes or groups of students. The children will learn about living in harmony with the environment and how to build homes and emergency shelters with arches, domes, and vaults using the earth under their feet. School groups and other institutions can register for a tour, morning, or day-long workshop.

Schools may also undertake projects in the classroom or school site using Cal-Earth’s educational tools—books, DVDs, and building kits. Visit the Field Trips Page for additional information and application form.
